Group Therapy program

Physiotherapy Group Exercise Tailored to You

Group Therapy is a targeted form of physiotherapy exercise that focuses on conscious control of muscular movements to aid in recovery from pain and injury. This personalised, physiotherapist-led approach is designed to support rehabilitation, restore function, and improve your overall physical wellbeing.

At St Leonards Physiotherapy, our group therapy program begins with a comprehensive one-on-one assessment. This 45-minute consultation allows our expert physiotherapists to identify your individual musculoskeletal issues, including flexibility, posture, strength, and movement patterns. This ensures your group therapy exercises are tailored specifically to your body and your needs.

How Group Therapy Works

Once your assessment is complete, you’ll join a small group therapy class, where your personalised exercise program will begin. These sessions initially focus on improving core muscle control in the pelvis and shoulder girdle—two key areas that support healthy movement and stability. From there, you’ll progress to working on other areas of the body.

Your group therapy exercises will start with simple, isolated movements and gradually advance to more complex, dynamic exercises. All movements are performed with an emphasis on proper posture and alignment to encourage natural, pain-free movement patterns. Through repetition and refinement, these patterns become automatic—helping you recover and reduce the risk of future injury.

Our group therapy sessions are open to people of all fitness and mobility levels. Whether you’re managing chronic pain, recovering from injury, or looking to build strength and balance, or simply require accountability and motivation, our classes provide expert guidance and tailored support.
