Frequently asked questions
1. What happens during my first physiotherapy appointment?
Your first appointment includes a thorough assessment where your physiotherapist will ask about your medical history, symptoms, lifestyle, and goals. They’ll perform a physical assessment and explain your diagnosis. Together, you’ll create a treatment plan that may include hands-on therapy, exercise, education, or referrals if needed.
2. What should I bring to my appointment?
Please bring any relevant scans (X-rays, MRIs, etc.), medical reports, a list of medications if applicable, and wear comfortable clothing that allows easy movement. If you’re claiming through insurance, bring your private health or Medicare card.
3. Can I use my private health insurance?
Yes! If you have physiotherapy cover as part of your extras policy, we can claim your rebate on the spot through HICAPS—just bring your private health fund card. The gap payment will depend on your insurer and level of cover.
4. Can I use Medicare for physiotherapy?
Yes, you may be eligible for up to 5 Medicare-subsidised physiotherapy sessions per calendar year under a Chronic Disease Management Plan (CDM), which must be arranged by your GP. You’ll need to bring the referral with you. This will help with part of the cost of the consultation, but the amount varies depending on your individual circumstances regarding Medicare. There will be a gap payment required.
5. Do you accept NDIS funding?
Yes, we support both plan-managed and self-managed NDIS participants. Our team is experienced in working with clients with a wide range of conditions, including neurological and developmental needs. We’ll help tailor your therapy around your NDIS goals and plan requirements.
6. Do I need a referral to see a physiotherapist?
No referral is needed for private physiotherapy. You can book directly with us. However, if you’re claiming under Medicare, Workers Compensation, CTP, or Veterans Affairs, you’ll need a relevant referral or paperwork before your appointment.
7. How long do physiotherapy appointments go for?
Initial consultations are usually 45–60 minutes, and standard follow-up sessions are 30 minutes. Longer sessions are available for more complex conditions or multiple areas of treatment—just let us know when booking.
8. What kinds of conditions do you treat?
We treat a wide range of musculoskeletal, neurological, and post-surgical conditions. This includes back and neck pain, sports injuries, arthritis, workplace injuries, neurological rehabilitation (e.g. stroke or Parkinson’s), chronic diseases, paediatric conditions and more. We also offer pre- and post-operative rehab, group exercise classes, and tailored programs like ONERO, GLA:D and BEAT IT.
9. Do you offer group physio classes?
Yes! We run a range of small-group physiotherapy programs including Group Therapy sessions, ONERO for osteoporosis, GLA:D for osteoarthritis, BEAT IT for diabetes, and strength, conditioning and rehab classes. We also offer an adolescent group therapy class. All group sessions are led by a physiotherapist and require an individual assessment first.
10. Can you provide home visits or telehealth sessions?
Yes, we offer home visits for certain clients, including those recovering from surgery or living with neurological conditions. We also offer telehealth consultations for exercise reviews, advice, and ongoing management—perfect if you can’t make it into the clinic.
11. How do I make a booking?
