Coronavirus update

In light of the recent announcements and what is happening in the world with the Coronavirus, we wanted to take a moment to update you on all the precautions that we’re taking in the clinic. We are working inline with Government recommendations and are open as normal. Your health and safety are our number one priority, and we have stepped up our service in response to the latest guidance from the Department of Health.

We ask at this stage that if you are sick, showing any symptoms, have been in contact with someone exposed to the virus, or have recently traveled overseas, please do not come into the clinic.

Cleaning and disinfecting

We have always cleaned and disinfected our clinic daily, however we are now washing all commonly touched surfaces and fittings more regularly, and using disinfectant wipes on beds, equipment and surfaces after every patient. We continue to replace any towels/paper toweling used after each patient.

Hygiene

We have hand sanitiser available at the clinic. We ask that you use this when you first walk into the clinic. Our practitioners have always washed their hands regularly as business-as-usual, however will be washing hands thoroughly more frequently and using sanitiser between each patient.

How can we prevent the spread?

Following Department of Health (DoH) recommendations and those from the World Health Organisation, please:

  • Wash hands thoroughly with soap, especially after using the toilet and before and after eating.
  • Cover your cough or sneeze, dispose of tissues immediately after use and use alcohol-based hand sanitiser.
  • If unwell, avoid contact with others, including hugging, kissing, hand holding etc.
  • Avoid touching your face where possible, especially your eyes and mouth.

Should you come in for your appointment?

We regularly see patients who are vulnerable, including the elderly, people with chronic conditions and people with disability, so we want to make sure we’re doing the best we can to keep our clinic safe. If you are sick or showing any cold or flu symptoms, or if you have been in contact with someone who has the virus, or someone who has traveled from a high-risk country, please stay home and call us to cancel or reschedule your appointment.

If you are in a high-risk category for contracting the virus, we would strongly suggest that you cancel or reschedule your appointment if appropriate. These include people who are immune compromised, have a disability, older people or people with chronic conditions.

This is a difficult time for everyone, and we are committed to ensuring the health and safety of our clients and staff are our number one priority. Thank you for following this guidance and we look forward to continuing to treat you in the clinic where possible. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact us on 9438 1782.
